چکیده
Sarcoidosis is autoimmune disease known from century whose exact etiology is still under debate. Sarcoidosis is a chronic disease and numbers of infections have been reported in sarcoidosis patients. Some of the infections are more commonly reported while other are rarely reported in sarcoidosis. In this paper, we try to review opportunistic infections in sarcoidosis if there are any particular conditions which are more prone to the certain type of infections in sarcoidosis. The paper and research published online in the medical journal about infections in sarcoidosis were reviewed as early as possible. The risk for opportunistic infection in sarcoidosis is low and types of infections cause in sarcoidosis may depend upon epidemiology, therapeutic status, sarcoidosis stage, sarcoidosis site and CD+4 count.

Rare Association of Severe Cryptococcal and Tuberculosis in Central Nervous System in a case of Sarcoidosis
Sarcoidosis is a multisystem noncaseating granulomatous disease with a propensity for lung, eye, and skin which recently have been proposed that mycobacterium tuberculosis may contribute in its pathogenesis, and rarely involves central nervous system (CNS). Despite CD4+ lymphocytopenia, sarcoidosis by itself does not increase risk of opportunistic infections other than cryptococcosis.Nonethel...

Nocardiosis is a rare, mixed suppurative and granulomatous, bacterial infection that can affect various organs, but most commonly lungs. Clinical manifestation is usually uncharacteristic; can mimic fungal, parasitic and mycobacterial infections or malignancy. Presentation can be also similar to that of the other granulomatous diseases, among them sarcoidosis. We present an unusual case of diss...
متن کاملCase studies to explore the pitfalls in the diagnosis of sarcoidosis.
Sarcoidosis is a multisystemic disorder of unknown cause. Diagnosis is established when clinical and radiological findings are supported by histological evidence of noncaseating epitheloid cell granulomas. Exclusion of granulomas of known causes and sarcoidlike reactions is mandatory. A lot of infections may mimic a sarcoidlike granulomatous reaction. Even with well advanced pathological and mi...
